Indonesian men’s doubles Fajar Alfian/Muhammad Rian Ardianto lost in the semifinals Japan Open 2023 after losing two straight games, 19-21 and 10-21, to the doubles of Taiwan Lee Yang/Wang Chi-Lin.

At the Yoyogi Gymnasium, Tokyo, Japan, Saturday (29/7), Fajar/Rian, who are the first seeds, appeared in the second match of the series of matches in the semifinals of the Japan Open 2023. There are a total of three Indonesian representatives playing today.

In the match at the start of the first game, Fajar/Rian were mostly in the chasing position. FajRi, the nickname for the Indonesian men’s doubles, had to trail the Taiwanese pair 6-11 in the game interval.

At the start of the second game, Fajar/Rian returned to their chasing position and got close to 3-4 but their opponent’s points again drifted away. Fajar/Rian trailed Lee Yang/Wang Chi-Lin 5-11 in the second game interval.

After the interval, Lee Yang/Wang Chi-Lin continued to maintain their advantage. Six points in a row also succeeded in stringing together, to make his lead over Fajar/Rian 16-5.

In the end Fajar Alfian/Muhammad Rian Ardianto had to admit the advantage of their opponent and lost 10-21 in the second game. Lee Yang/Wang Chi-Lin to the final, Fajar/Rian ran aground.

Indonesia still leaves two other representatives in the semifinals Japan Open 2023 Today. There are men’s singles Jonathan Christie and women’s singles Gregoria Mariska Tunjung who will also fight for a ticket to the final.

Fajar Alfian/Muhammad Rian Ardianto made it through to the semifinals Japan Open 2023 after defeating their compatriots Mohammad Ahsan/Hendra Setiawan in two straight games, Friday (28/7).

Fajar/Rian, who are the first seeds, were able to control the game from the start of the match. Fajar/Rian won four consecutive points to open the scoring.

Fajar Alfian/Muhammad Rian Ardianto will face He Jiting/Zhou Haodong in the semifinals All England 2023. Here are some interesting facts ahead of the match.
