Fajar Alfian and Muhammad Rian Ardianto Eliminated in First Round of Singapore Open 2023

Dawn Alfian/Muhammad Rian Ardianto eliminated in the first round Singapore Open 2023. They were defeated by Ben Lane/Sean Vendy in straight games.

In the round of 32 match at the Singapore Indoor Stadium, Tuesday (6/6) afternoon WIB, Fajar/Rian lost to the British representative with a score of 15-21, 18-21.

Fajar/Rian lost from the start of the first game. They immediately fell behind 0-5 and continued to be in a chasing position.

Behind 4-11 at the interval, Fajar/Rian got close to 14-17. However, Lane/Vendy back away. Fajar/Rian lost the first game 15-21 after failing to anticipate a drop shot lane in front of the net.

Fajar/Rian lost again at the start of the second game by trailing 0-3. Even though they keep trying to catch up, they can never beat Lane/Vendy.

Fajar/Rian had a hard time getting out of the pressure. They also often make mistakes themselves.

Even though they were behind 12-18 and closed 17-19, Fajar/Rian was unable to stop Lane/Vendy’s pace. They ended up losing 18-21 in the second game.
