Ukraine inflicts Heavy Losses on Russian Forces inโ Donetskโ Region, Recapturing key Village
KYIV, Ukraine – Ukrainian forces have achieved a important victory in the Donetsk region, retaking the strategic village โคof Torske and โinflicting heavyโ casualties โคon โRussian โtroops, according to reportsโฃ from the 425th Skala Separate Assault โขRegiment. The โฃoperation, which resulted in approximately 100 Russian soldiersโ killedโข and an undisclosed number taken prisoner, represents a notable โคgain for Kyiv amidst ongoing fierce fighting along the โeastern front.
Torske is situated โคon a crucialโ logistical route connecting Kreminna and Lyman,โข making its control vital for โboth sides. Ukrainian forces launched a targeted assault on the village after conducting reconnaissance of Russian positions. Assault troops systematically cleared the settlement, house-by-house, encountering disorganized and unprepared Russian units.
“The invaders were holed up in the village with minimalโ ammunition,” โคthe Skala regiment stated. “They were sitting in basements without water or food.”
Reports indicate that many Russian soldiers attempted to flee, โขwhile others surrendered. Despite attempts by Russian commanders to prevent surrenders via drone surveillance, Ukrainian forces secured โขa significantโฃ number of prisoners.
Elsewhere on theโ Lyman front, units from Ukraine’s Third Army Corps successfully repelled a Russian breakthrough attempt near the โฃvillage of Stavky. A Russian mechanized column, comprised of armored personnelโฃ carriers andโ a tank, wasโ destroyed through a combination of artillery fireโ and First-Person View (FVP) drones, resulting in an estimated 20 Russian casualties.
These gains come as Ukraineโค continues to make incremental advancesโ in severalโ areas, including the recent recaptureโ of Kucheriv Yar โearlier this week, approximately 40โข kilometers from Pokrovsk, which had been seized by Russian forces โขin mid-August during aโค push towards โDobropillia.
Despite these successes, Russia’s army continuesโ to press itsโฃ offensive in other parts of Ukraine, โขhighlighting theโข ongoing intensity ofโ the conflict.
