Jakarta – Actor Joe Taslim remains deeply impressed by Heath Ledger‘s performance as the Joker in The Dark Knight, calling it potentially the performance of the decade. Taslim shared his admiration in an exclusive interview with detikPop on Tuesday, September 16th.
Taslim expressed being captivated by every moment of Ledger’s portrayal. “Heath Ledger in the Joker in The Dark knight is arguably the performance of the decade. The performance until now is still very, very legendary.You watch it again, you’re gonna feel the same response,” he stated.
He further elaborated on the transformative nature of Ledger’s acting, noting it transcended mere performance. ”That is indeed his approach I do not know what it looks like, his love for that character, dedication to what kind of character. There’s no words can describe as he becomes, he is not acting anymore, he is being, becoming, not acting as a joker, he is becoming the joker,” Taslim explained. He believes Ledger’s interpretation stands apart from othre actors who have taken on the role.
Taslim also reflected on the diverse choices actors make in their craft, shaped by individual backgrounds and experiences. “Actually actor, we make choices in acting. Are we playing big? Do we play satels? Do we wont to move a lot? Are we just from the eye? That’s the choice. All actors, a thousand actors, have a thousand different choices. Because we are backgrounds raised in different ways, different races, different religions, different economic difficulties,” he said. “And that is what makes the acting very, very beautiful in one form of art.”
