Jakarta, indonesia – Big Ben Music Indonesia will premiere a uniquely cast production of disney‘s “The Little Mermaid Junior” on October 4th, featuring a predominantly male ensemble in roles traditionally held by female characters.This marks the first officially authorized performance of a Disney musical by Disney Theatrical International (MTI USA) in Indonesia with this casting approach.
The performances, scheduled for October 4th and 5th from 1:00 PM to 6:00 PM at Graha Bhakti budaya, Ismail mazuki Art center in downtown Jakarta, will run approximately two hours and fifteen minutes. The production boasts over 60 performers, ranging from children to adults, supported by a team of 30 professional producers.
“we hope to show that the talent of Indonesian children can be comparable to international standards,” stated Hidajat Firdaus of Big Ben Music Academy.
Director Francis Casas Masnayon and Untung Sanjaya emphasized the visual spectacle, stating, “The costumes and stage are the soul of the show, and the audience will seem to have truly sneaked into the underwater world and be taken to the land in an instant.”
the cast includes Hitadewi abhassara as Ariel, Peter Leonard Chung as Prince Eric, Mulio Waluyo as King Triton, james Leonard Chung as Sebastian, Cittadewi Abhassara and Lyndon Aldrich Luo as Flunder, SERGIE VERGO and NIA Vebriany as Ursula, Lalla Angsana as Flotsam, Kayleigh Salim as Jetsam, Stefany ferlenthya as arista, Emiliana wirawan as Aquata, Kaylinn Sung as Adella, Novia as Alana, and Michelle Reyvina as Andrina. Audiences can anticipate classic songs like “Part of Your World,” ”Under the sea,” and “Poor Unfortunate Souls.”
