‘The Conjuring‘ HBO Max Series Adds ‘Tiny Stunning things’ Showrunner Nancy Won
nancy Won will serve as showrunner and executive producer for the long-in-growth drama series based on The Conjuring film franchise at HBO Max, Deadline has confirmed. The hiring signals a significant step forward for the project, initially announced in April 2023, as it moves closer too production.
The series aims to expand the narrative established in the nine films of The Conjuring universe, including the recent The Conjuring: Last rites, which achieved the biggest horror opening weekend worldwide on September 5. With a dedicated fanbase and a proven track record at the box office, the HBO Max series represents a key expansion of the franchise into television, offering a new avenue for storytelling within the established lore.
Joining Won as writers are Peter Cameron and Cameron Squires, both with experience on Marvel series Agatha All Along and WandaVision. The project is a collaboration between Warner Bros. Television and Atomic Monster, James Wan’s production company, with Wan-director of the first two Conjuring films-producing.
