Consumers Energy Announces Planned Power Outage for Portland Residents
PORTLAND, Mich. – Consumers Energy is preparing for a planned power outage affecting residents of Portland, Michigan, beginning at 11 p.m. on Saturday and continuing until 8 a.m. on Sunday.
The outage is necessary to allow crews to install and connect new power lines to the poles that will serve the cityS new Grant Street substation. This critical infrastructure project is designed to substantially strengthen portland’s electric system and improve reliability for years to come.
Consumers Energy anticipates the grant Street substation will be fully operational by spring 2026. The upgrade represents a substantial investment in the community’s energy future.
