The Minister of Health and Population, Dr. Hala Zayed, announced the provision of medical services to 3 million citizens who suffer from chronic diseases for free, and within the initiative of the President of the Republic to follow up and treat chronic diseases under the slogan “100 million health”, since its launch on June 20 Last until Monday.

This came during a meeting held by the Minister of Health and Population, today, and in the presence of the Assistant Minister of Health for Supervision and Follow-up Affairs and the Head of the Health Care Authority for Comprehensive Health Insurance Dr. “Ahmed Al-Sobky”, the Assistant Minister of Health and Population for Public Health Initiatives Dr. “Muhammad Hassani”, and the President of the Authority General Health Insurance, Dr. Muhammad Dahi, the Head of the Primary Care Sector, Dr. Hanaa Sorour, and the Head of the Clinical Medicine Sector, Dr. Mustafa Ghanima, to follow up on the progress of work on the President’s initiative for the follow-up and treatment of chronic diseases.

Sign the medical examination and take the tests:

The minister added that the necessary examinations, medical examinations and analyzes were signed for 3 million citizens, and treatment was provided to one million and 800 thousand chronic disease sufferers out of the number for which the medical examination was signed, and for a period sufficient to the next 3 months, at a monthly cost. It reaches nearly 360 million pounds, of which 260 thousand decisions are at the expense of the state, and one million and 540 thousand health insurance decisions.

The advisor to the Minister of Health and Population for Media Affairs and the ministry’s spokesperson, Dr. Khaled Mujahid, indicated that the campaign provides 108 different types of medicines, including medicines (pressure, sugar, lipid reducers, liquidity, heart rhythm regulating medicines, and coronary vasodilators). , Through 228 outpatient clinics in hospitals, 89 mobile medical caravans, and 321 health units and medical centers, in all governorates of the Republic.

Inclusion of beneficiaries within the 100 Million Health Initiative:

Dr. Khaled Mujahid explained that the minister directed the inclusion of all citizens benefiting from various health initiatives into the initiative of the President of the Republic in order to follow up and treat chronic diseases, conduct the necessary checks for them and dispense treatment to them through the “100 million health” database, as well as provide The necessary awareness for them about the importance of urging their families to detect chronic diseases.

Communication with citizens over 40 years old:

Dr. Khaled Mujahid added that the minister also directed to send messages on mobile phones for citizens, especially those over 40 years old, to urge them to go immediately to the nearest health unit, hospital or mobile clinic in order to sign an examination and follow up on their health status, and to be reassured. They should, as it is possible to find out the campaign’s working dates and the nearest location to them through the “Egypt Health” application, and to appeal to citizens with chronic diseases on the importance of following up diseases (pressure, heart, diabetes), as well as detecting “kidney” diseases.

Dr. Khaled Mujahid stated that the governorates that witnessed the highest frequency of the initiative are (Giza, Assiut, Sharkia, Menoufia, Beheira, Qena, and Dakahlia), adding that the age group most frequenting the initiative ranges from 40 to 60 years old.

Precautionary measures:

He pointed out that safe corridors have been allocated for the entry and exit of patients in hospitals to support and encourage patients with chronic diseases to communicate to complete their treatment and follow up on their health in safe ways, and to prevent mixing between patients infected with the Coronavirus and patients without the virus, indicating the importance of taking All necessary preventive and precautionary measures and following infection control methods, the necessity of social distancing, as well as obligating those who are hesitant to the campaign to wash their hands before and after signing them with alcohol disinfectant, and wearing the muzzle.

Mujahid explained to me that a number of advice is given to patients with chronic diseases, in order to preserve their health, including keeping medicines on time, and avoiding processed meats, as well as foods that contain a high proportion of salts, such as: salted fish, and Pickles, as well as being careful to eat fresh fruits and vegetables, and avoiding foods that contain high levels of vegetable fats, indicating the importance of maintaining constant exercise.
