Concert Night Sees Police Respond to Intoxication & Disruptive Behaviour in Trøndelag
Steinkjer, Norway – Despite a busy evening with a concert in the area, police in the Trøndelag district reported a relatively quiet night overall. However, officers responded to a series of incidents stemming largely from alcohol-related issues and disruptive behavior, resulting in multiple arrests and expulsions.
Throughout the concert, police handled a total of 19 assignments. Eleven individuals where removed from the venue, and four were taken into custody - all men, with three in their 20s and one in his 40s – due to intoxication or non-compliance with police orders.
Altercation at nightclub Leads to Expulsion
Shortly after midnight,police were called to a Steinkjer nightclub regarding a female guest who had been asked to leave. According to Operations Manager Anlaug Oseid, the woman became involved in an argument with security staff and “held another person in the shirt.”
Police arrived to find the woman with a man, and both were expelled from the premises, barred from returning untill 8:00 AM Saturday. Both individuals are local residents and known to police.
Loud Music & Suspected DUI
Further incidents included a complaint about excessively loud music emanating from a car at an Esso station in verdal city center. The driver, a man in his 20s from the surrounding area, was instructed to leave and not return to the city center until Saturday morning. Police stated they were already monitoring the area due to previous complaints about noise.
In Grong, police encountered a teenager suspected of driving under the influence. The individual was taken to the hospital for a blood test to determine their blood alcohol content.
Overall a Quiet Night, Despite Incidents
Despite these incidents, Operations Manager Oseid characterized the night as ”on the whole a quiet night watchman,” acknowledging some instances of intoxication but emphasizing the lack of major disturbances.
