Spotify Now Lets You Share Listening Stats Anytime, Directly to Social Media
Spotify is expanding beyond its annual Wrapped feature, now offering users the ability to access and share their listening statistics – daily, weekly, or monthly – directly with friends on social media. Previously, users were limited to viewing a year-end summary of their listening habits.
The new “listening stats” feature, announced via Spotify’s For the Record blog, is available to both Free and Premium users. Users can access their data by navigating to their profile icon, opening the menu, and selecting the “listening stats” tab. Data is categorized by songs, artists, and overall listening insights, automatically compiled by Spotify.
Beyond simply viewing the stats, Spotify has streamlined the sharing process. Users can easily share their stats to connected social media accounts, including Instagram Stories, TikTok Feed and Stories, TikTok DMs, Snapchat Story and Messages, Facebook Stories, Feed, & messenger, and the newly reintroduced Spotify Messaging.
This expanded sharing functionality also extends to real-time song streaming data, which can be shared to Instagram Notes. While currently, sharing listening stats specifically to Instagram Notes isn’t supported, Spotify hasn’t ruled it out for future updates.
The update aims to foster greater connection between users by allowing them to share their musical tastes and habits more frequently and easily with their network. Spotify detailed the expanded social sharing capabilities in a separate blog post, emphasizing the goal of connecting users with friends and family through music.
