Sonos introduces its own streaming service for radio worldwide NOW

The American speaker manufacturer Sonos introduced its own radio service on Tuesday. Sonos Radio bundles existing radio channels with its own programming. The new service is available immediately to users worldwide.

Sonos Radio bundles channels from different radio apps in one overview. The company collaborates with partners such as Napster and TuneIn. Users can choose from over 60,000 international radio stations from multiple streaming partners. Based on their zip code, users can also listen to local radio stations.

In addition, Sonos comes with its own programming, which is currently only available in the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, Ireland, and Australia. According to Sonos, programming support will follow “soon” for more countries, including the Netherlands.

Its own programming consists of thirty radio stations where Sonos plays the most listened to music from users. These numbers are interspersed with advertisements.

In addition, Sonos comes with a radio station that is managed by its own employees. Finally, the speaker manufacturer Artist Stations presents, with music selections from artists, starting with Radiohead lead singer Thom Yorke.
