the mission: reducing housing deficits
the senior director program – eme will lead the implementation of hfh eme area office (ao) strategic frameworks. this role is crucial for addressing systemic failures that hinder access to adequate and affordable housing. aligning with hfhi’s theory of change, program framework, and global strategy, the senior director will coordinate regional efforts to reduce housing deficits.
key responsibilities
the senior director will:
- provide inspirational leadership to the programs unit and across the ao and regional network.
- lead and oversee the implementation of regional strategic goals, generating greater scale and higher impact for the habitat network.
- hold the programs unit accountable for implementing the regional strategy by clearly communicating priorities and key initiatives.
- actively engage with the regional network to ensure effective implementation of the regional strategy, including capacity building and expertise provision.
- ensure monitoring, evaluation, accountability, and learning (meal) is embedded throughout projects and programs.
- enhance hfh’s build + influence efforts thru coordination across aos and the entire network to advance advocacy goals.
- serve as a key representative and thought leader on programs and advocacy.
- represent the region in global strategic-level discussions and initiatives, promoting cross-region collaboration.
- deputize for the avp, overseeing the ao as a whole, when appropriate.
- oversee grant management and provide technical support to resource growth.
- support and enhance collaboration with hfhi’s global teams.
strategic framework realization
the senior director will dedicate 50% of their time to regional strategic framework plan realization, including:
- holding teams and the regional network accountable for delivering the ao strategic framework.
- supporting the development and implementation of country strategy plans.
- supporting ao and regional network realignment and resourcing processes.
liaison and collaboration
fifteen percent of the role involves serving as a liaison with other hfhi departments to ensure cross-team collaboration, aligning support structures, processes, and strategy execution.
external partnerships and programmatic direction
the senior director will allocate 5% of their time to identifying, pursuing, and managing contracts and collaborations with external implementing partners. another 15% will be dedicated to advising on programmatic direction, including grant management, meal, and advocacy.
special projects
the remaining 15% of the role will focus on special projects in support of the ao vp,perhaps including programs thought leadership efforts.
requirements

- 10+ years of relevant experiance in programs, impact, advocacy, or operational support.
