Moroccan international Selim amallah Released by Real Valladolid Amidst Club’s Relegation Struggle
Valladolid, Spain – Selim Amallah, the 28-year-old Moroccan international, has parted ways with Real Valladolid, the Spanish club announced today. The move comes after a turbulent two-and-a-half-year spell in Spain for the midfielder, marked by both opportunities in La Liga and the frustrations of repeated relegation battles.
Amallah initially joined real Valladolid in January 2023 following a difficult period at Belgian side Standard Liège, where he found himself sidelined. The transfer offered him a fresh start and regular playing time in the Spanish top flight. Though, Valladolid suffered relegation to the second division at the end of that season. A subsequent loan spell at Valencia allowed Amallah to remain in La Liga, where he enjoyed a promising start before losing his place in the squad following his participation in the Africa Cup of Nations. Hope briefly returned with Valladolid’s promotion back to La Liga, but the club’s fortunes quickly reversed.
Despite contributing 3 goals and 2 assists during the recent season,Amallah couldn’t prevent valladolid from once again facing relegation, culminating in a disastrous end to the campaign. This time, though, there will be no loan move; Valladolid has terminated Amallah’s contract, making him a free agent.
The player, a product of youth academies at Mons, Anderlecht, Tubize, and Mouscron, is now free to negotiate with any club. Reports suggest interest from Spanish second-division side Racing Santander, perhaps offering Amallah the chance to continue his career in Spain.
