Talents Sarajevo Unveils Refreshed Labs with global Mentorship
Talents sarajevo has announced a significant overhaul of its workshop formats, prioritizing collaborative learning and featuring a distinguished lineup of international industry professionals. The program aims to equip emerging talent with essential skills across various filmmaking disciplines, fostering a supportive environment for creative growth.The Script Station is reimagined with a focus on collaboration, led by France’s Pisani-Ferry, known for her work on “Becoming Karl Lagerfeld” and Netflix’s “vampires,” and Serbia’s Matija Dragojević, co-author of the Canneseries winner “Awake.” Their combined expertise in serial storytelling, growth room dynamics, and genre innovation will guide young writers in balancing individual voices with collective efforts.
Visual storytelling takes center stage in the Camera Studio, under the direction of North Macedonian cinematographer Naum Doksevski. His acclaimed work on Venice award winner “Housekeeping for Beginners” and Sundance winner “DJ Ahmet” informs an approach that views the camera as an ethical and aesthetic extension of the filmmaker’s perspective,emphasizing empathy and collaboration.
The Producers Summit will be guided by Israel’s Katriel Schory, a pivotal figure in international cinema with a track record of supporting over 250 films. schory will impart a pragmatic understanding of balancing artistic vision with financial realities, focusing on the producer’s role as a facilitator and safeguard in navigating international co-productions and funding.
Emerging editors will benefit from the expertise of Bosnia’s Redžinald Šimek in the Editing Studio. With extensive experience in sound,video,and post-production supervision,including collaborations with Danis Tanović and Aida Begić,Šimek’s mentorship will highlight editing as a crucial stage where creative decisions meet practical constraints,emphasizing a strong sense of structure and collaborative methods.
Talent Press, the program for aspiring film critics and journalists, returns under the leadership of Neil Young. A critic, curator, and performer with jury experience at Cannes, Berlinale, and Venice, Young will provide practical guidance on crafting insightful criticism within the context of rapid digital discourse and evolving public engagement.
The Pack & Pitch lab, co-mentored by Gabriele Brunnenmeyer and Nick Davies, will offer essential guidance on project articulation, packaging, and presentation. Brunnenmeyer, a veteran of prominent European project development labs, and Davies, a cultural strategist with experience at the Venice Biennale and Toronto Film Festival, will guide participants through project evolution culminating in a final pitch session for a competitive award.
