Samsung today unveiled the Galaxy S26 Ultra, featuring what the company claims is the world’s first “Privacy Display” alongside advancements in artificial intelligence and camera technology. The new smartphone, detailed on Samsung’s German and UK websites, incorporates a 200-megapixel camera and a processor optimized for AI functions.
The Privacy Display is intended to limit visual access to the screen’s content when viewed from an angle, a feature designed to enhance user privacy in public spaces. Samsung has not yet detailed the specific technology behind the display, but marketing materials emphasize its unique capability.
The Galaxy S26 Ultra’s camera system represents a significant upgrade, with the 200MP wide camera now boasting an aperture of F1.4, according to a YouTube video released by Samsung. This wider aperture is designed to improve low-light performance and image clarity. The front-facing camera also benefits from AI-powered image processing.
Available in black, the S26 Ultra will ship with 12GB of RAM and 512GB of storage, according to an Amazon.de listing. The device operates on the Android platform and is offered without a contract, allowing users to select their own service provider.
Samsung’s marketing materials highlight the integration of “Galaxy AI” throughout the S26 Ultra, suggesting a focus on intelligent features and user experience enhancements. Specific applications of this AI technology remain largely unspecified at this time.
The Galaxy S26 Ultra is currently available for pre-order on Amazon.de, with shipping expected to initiate shortly. Samsung has not announced a firm release date for other markets.
