Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra: Leaked Photos & Privacy Display First Look

by Rachel Kim – Technology Editor

A Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra has reportedly been purchased ahead of schedule in Dubai, offering an early look at the highly anticipated smartphone and its new features. A user on X, @KaroulSahil, claims to have acquired the device and has shared images and video demonstrating its functionality.

The leaked images show the Galaxy S26 Ultra alongside competitor devices, including the iPhone 15 Pro Max, as well as phones from Vivo and Oppo. The S26 Ultra appears to be comparable in size to these models, potentially slightly taller, and maintains a similar overall design to the Galaxy S25 Ultra, with the key difference being a dedicated camera island.

Perhaps the most notable feature showcased is the “Privacy Display” function. A short video demonstrates that when activated, the screen significantly darkens when viewed from an angle, effectively preventing visual eavesdropping. The demonstration also highlights a “Maximum privacy protection” toggle, which, based on previous reports, is expected to further reduce screen brightness even when viewed head-on, enhancing privacy.

Early impressions suggest the Privacy Display may not offer the extensive customization options previously speculated. Leaks had hinted at features like automatic activation based on location or the ability to selectively hide portions of the screen. However, the video appears to show only the two aforementioned toggles. It remains possible that additional controls are hidden within the software or become available when “Maximum privacy protection” is enabled, or that this is an early software build.

Despite the potential limitations in customization, the Privacy Display appears to be a functional and useful addition to the Galaxy S26 Ultra. Samsung has previously alluded to the feature, but this is the first public demonstration. The official unveiling of the Samsung Galaxy S26 series is scheduled for February 25th, and further details regarding the Privacy Display and other features will be revealed then.
