Samsung has begun distributing February software updates to a range of Galaxy devices in the United States, following the launch of the Galaxy S26 series at Galaxy Unpacked 2026 on February 25th. The rollout includes the entire Galaxy S25 lineup, as well as several models within the Z Fold and Z Flip families, and select FE devices.
The updates, although broadly available, are described as minor, primarily delivering the “most up to date Android security patches.” Specific build numbers for the updates are as follows: Galaxy S25 Ultra (S938USQS8BYLX), Galaxy S25+ (S936USQS8BYLX), Galaxy S25 (S931USQS8BYLX), Galaxy S25 Edge (S937USQS5BYLX), Galaxy S25 FE (S731USQS5AYLX), Galaxy S24 FE (S721USQSACZB4), Galaxy Z Fold 7 (F966USQS8AZB6), Galaxy Z Fold 6 (F956USQS3CZB6), Galaxy Z Flip 7 (F766USQS8AZB6), and Galaxy Z Flip 6 (F741USQS3CZB6).
The limited scope of the February update is attributed to Samsung’s preparations for the wider release of One UI 8.5. This major software iteration has been undergoing beta testing for several months and is expected to develop into generally available shortly, coinciding with its debut on the newly released Galaxy S26 series. Samsung unveiled the Galaxy S26, S26+, and S26 Ultra at Galaxy Unpacked 2026 in San Francisco, marking the third generation of its Galaxy AI-powered phones.
Users can initiate a manual check for updates within their device settings by navigating to Settings > Software update > Download, and install. The Galaxy S26 series, featuring a refined design and enhanced AI capabilities, is available for pre-order starting February 25th, according to Samsung’s announcement.
