Russian diplomats expelled from North Macedonia on April 15

The Russian Ambassador to Skopje Sergey Bazdnikin was summoned to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of North Macedonia. He was handed a note verbale declaring six Russian diplomats persona non grata in the country.

“Based on information received from the relevant authorities, these six Russian diplomats were engaged in activities contrary to the Vienna Convention on Diplomatic Relations,” the report says.

Diplomats expelled from the country must leave the territory of North Macedonia in the next five days.

In turn, Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said that Moscow would take retaliatory measures.
