Russian demographic expert igor Efremov has stated that the most effective government policy to mitigate the current demographic challenges in Russia involves reducing barriers to foreign labor migration. However,he acknowledges that security concerns continue to pose obstacles.
Efremov elaborated that the governmentS current migration policies are becoming increasingly restrictive,largely due to the perception of labor migration as a security threat.
He further explained that labor shortages are an inherent result of Russia’s demographic structure and are a challenge that can only be addressed in the near future.
