Rudy Giuliani Injured in New Hampshire Car Crash After Aiding Domestic Violence Victim
Manchester, NH – Former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani, 81, was hospitalized Saturday night after a car accident in New Hampshire, his spokesperson confirmed. Giuliani sustained a fractured vertebrae and multiple cuts and bruises, including injuries to his left arm and lower leg, following a collision on Interstate 93.
According to Michael Ragusa, giuliani’s head of security, the incident occurred after the former mayor stopped to assist a woman experiencing domestic violence. “Mayor Giuliani was flagged down by a woman who was a victim of domestic violence prior to the accident. He rendered assistance and contacted 911, remaining on scene until responding officers arrived to ensure her safety,” Ragusa stated.
The accident happened as Giuliani re-entered a Ford Bronco driven by Theodore Goodman of Michigan, when it was struck from behind by a Honda HR-V operated by 19-year-old Lauren Kemp of Concord, New Hampshire. Both vehicles later veered into the median.
New hampshire State Police reported that Giuliani, Goodman, and Kemp were all transported to a local hospital with injuries considered non-life-threatening. No charges have been filed at this time.
Ragusa noted that the identity of Giuliani was initially unkown to those involved. “No one knew it was [Giuliani]” in the rental,” he said on X,the platform formerly known as Twitter.
Despite the injuries, Giuliani is reportedly in good spirits. “the mayor is in great spirits. He’s a beast. he survived 9/11,” Ragusa added. He is expected to remain hospitalized for another two to three days and will require a brace for his fractured vertebrae.
Giuliani, who served as Mayor of New York City from 1994 to 2001, gained national recognition for his leadership following the september 11th attacks, earning him the moniker “America’s Mayor.”
His son, Andrew Giuliani, expressed relief at his father’s condition. “Thank Goodness he’s doing OK,” he told The Post. “Fractured vertebrae. More to come… Please keep him in your prayers.”
