RTVE Play Mandates Account Creation, Introduces Interactive Features

Viewers of Spain’s RTVE Play will soon need a free account to enjoy content. This move, starting June 30, 2025, aims to enhance user experience by offering personalized features and a safer environment for children.

Registration Becomes Mandatory

Starting June 30, 2025, users must create a free account to continue accessing RTVE Play content. The platform initially required registration for app and smart TV users, and it’s expanding to web users on mobile and computers. Creating an account is free and easy; users provide an email, password, birthdate, gender, country, and postal code.

RTVE Play first introduced mandatory registration in February 2024. This is now extending across all platforms for users to view content, both live and on-demand.

New Interactive Features Unveiled

RTVE Play will launch two significant features. A children’s profile will offer age-appropriate content. Additionally, “RTVE Play Participates” enables audience interaction through surveys and live chats. These features aim to promote community engagement around their programs.

RTVE Play Participates introduces a new way for viewers to interact. Viewers can interact with RTVE programs through surveys, live chats, and more. It offers an opportunity to interact with content. Users can also propose new format ideas and give feedback on current fiction titles.
