A day-one patch, version 1.1.0, has been released for Resident Evil Requiem on the Nintendo Switch 2, Capcom announced today. The update, containing “several fixes,” is recommended for all players before beginning the game, according to a notice on Nintendo’s official Japanese website.
The release of Requiem on the Switch 2 has been met with considerable praise from industry observers. Digital Foundry lauded Capcom’s porting efforts, stating the company “deserves kudos for this port” (Nintendo Life). Capcom itself initially expressed skepticism about the game’s performance on the new Nintendo hardware, but was ultimately impressed by the results. According to the game’s director, “It all worked so smoothly that we decided to just proceed ahead with the game as-is and craft it for the system” (TechRadar).
Alongside Resident Evil Requiem, Capcom has also released Resident Evil 7: Biohazard Gold Edition and Resident Evil Village Gold Edition on the Switch 2, PlayStation 5, and Steam.
Nintendo has also announced release dates for Resident Evil-themed amiibo figures. Cosmetic skins for in-game weapons will be unlockable via amiibo featuring Grace Ashcroft and Leon S. Kennedy, slated to arrive on July 30, 2026 (Nintendo.com).
