Regensburg Sports Clubs Gain Fast Online Booking Access to Municipal Facilities
Regensburg, Germany – December 5, 2025 – local sports clubs in Regensburg are set to benefit from a significant upgrade to facility booking procedures. The Office of Sports and Leisure has initiated the first phase of its new sports facility management program, providing clubs with personalized access data to a brand-new software system. This marks the first time Regensburg clubs can reserve municipal sports facilities directly online.
Currently, the online booking system is available for the city’s single gymnasiums, with plans to expand access to other facilities in subsequent phases. The move promises to streamline the process of securing indoor training and competition space for local athletes.
“The new software makes it easier to organize indoor times,” stated Astrid Freudenstein, Sports Mayor of the City of Regensburg. “The clubs benefit from clear processes and quick access to the city’s sports facilities, ultimately supporting a more vibrant and accessible sporting community.”
Christian Goß, Head of the Office for Sport and Leisure, echoed this sentiment, adding, “With the start of the first phase, we are creating a modern and transparent basis for the allocation of sports facilities. We are very pleased that it is now possible to offer this service to our clubs, improving efficiency and fairness in the booking process.”

Clubs will need to collect thier personalized access documents in person from the Office for Sports and Leisure.A crucial deadline is approaching for those clubs that have already received confirmed hall times for 2026: these documents must be picked up by Wednesday, December 31, 2025, at the latest. Failure to do so may jeopardize existing bookings.
