ROG Ally X, Ally Prices Surface Ahead of Official Launch
Handheld PC Gaming Console Pricing Leaked by Spanish Distributor
Anticipation is mounting for ASUS and Microsoft’s latest handheld gaming PCs, with early pricing information for the ROG Ally X and its predecessor appearing online. The figures suggest a significant upgrade in performance and cost for the upcoming model.
Potential Pricing Revealed
The selling prices for the “ROG Xbox Ally X” and the “ROG Xbox Ally” have been posted, according to international media outlet VideoCardz. An official ASUS distributor in Spain, ASUS Store by MacMan, briefly listed the next-generation portable gaming consoles.
The listed prices were 899 euros for the ROG Ally X and 599 euros for the ROG Ally. These figures, though reportedly removed shortly after, offer a preview of the potential price range for these devices. In Japanese yen, this translates to approximately 155,000 yen for the ROG Ally X and around 104,000 yen for the ROG Ally.
Performance and Price Correlation
The ROG Ally X is priced 1.5 times higher than the original ROG Ally, a difference potentially justified by substantial hardware upgrades. The new model is expected to feature AMD’s Zen 5 Ryzen AI Z2 Extreme APU, boasting 8 cores and 16 threads in its CPU, coupled with RDNA 3.5 graphics. In contrast, the original ROG Ally utilized a Zen 2 Ryzen Z2 A APU with a 4-core, 8-thread CPU and RDNA 2 graphics.
Significant enhancements in storage and memory capacity are also anticipated for the ROG Ally X, promising a more robust gaming experience. While these prices are unofficial, they provide a crucial benchmark as both Microsoft and ASUS gear up for the holiday season 2025 release window.
