MASERU, LESOTHO – Primary General President Susan⁤ H. ⁣porter recently concluded a ministering visit to the Africa South Area, strengthening relationships ​with faith leaders‍ and children while overseeing a donation of 300 ​pairs‍ of shoes to schools in Lesotho. The visit, spanning September 2-5, 2025, ⁣underscored the Church of ‌Jesus Christ of Latter-day⁢ Saints’ ⁤commitment to ⁢supporting education and ‍fostering⁤ interfaith understanding across the continent.

President ‌Porter’s travels took her to​ both Reunion and⁣ Lesotho, where she met with key religious and community figures⁣ and spent time ‍with Latter-day​ Saint children. ⁢This trip builds⁤ upon ongoing church efforts to partner‌ with local organizations⁣ and leaders to address critical needs and promote spiritual ‍growth⁣ within the Africa south Area, which encompasses several nations ​facing unique challenges in education and economic development.

Later, in Lesotho, her ‌visit to⁢ the st. Louis Primary School near ‌Maseru highlighted the Church’s dedication to children’s well-being.

The ‌donation of shoes to the ⁢St. Louis Primary School and two‌ other schools⁢ in the area provided practical assistance to students, enabling them to attend school with greater comfort and dignity.A choir of students, dressed in matching red ⁢uniforms, performed ⁣for President Porter during her visit ⁤to St. Louis ⁤Primary School, expressing their⁣ gratitude through song.
