Poland Claims Victory at Predazzo Duets Competition, Stoch and Kubacki shine
Predazzo, Italy – The Polish team of Kamil Stoch and dawid Kubacki secured a triumphant win at the Sunday duets competition in Predazzo, finishing with a total of 786.6 points. The victory marks a strong performance for Poland in the team event, showcasing the skill of both athletes throughout the competition.
The competition saw several teams eliminated after the first series, including China, Canada, Ukraine, Kazakhstan, Romania, and the USA. The American team’s elimination followed the disqualification of Tate Frantz, unexpectedly allowing Turkey to advance to the second series. Disqualifications also impacted China’s Zhen and Ukraine’s Marusiak. A further incident saw Canadian athlete Tarik Vanwieren unable to jump due to a non-compliant suit.
Kamil Stoch demonstrated exceptional form,jumping 134.5 meters in the second series and later a phenomenal 135.5 meters in the third. Dawid Kubacki also contributed strongly, initially flying 127.5 meters to maintain Poland’s lead after the first round, with a combined 176.7 points after two jumps. He later improved to 129.5 meters in the second series and 137.5 meters in the decisive third series, ultimately securing the win.
Japan finished in second place with 765.7 points,20.9 points behind Poland. Ryoyu Kobayashi lead the Japanese effort, achieving a distance of 133 meters in the first round and improving to 132.5 meters in the second,and a final jump of 141 meters. Slovenia secured third place with 764.7 points, trailing by 21.9 points. Anze Lanisek jumped 137 meters in the final round for Slovenia.
