Jonathan Bailey, the British actor currently starring in “Wicked” on broadway and known for his role in the Netflix series “Bridgerton,” has been named People magazine’s Sexiest Man Alive for 2023. The announcement, revealed Tuesday, recognizes Bailey’s rising prominence and philanthropic efforts alongside his celebrated career.
The annual title, first bestowed upon Mel Gibson in 1985, carries cultural weight, often boosting the recipient’s profile and sparking widespread conversation. Bailey joins a prestigious list of past honorees including Brad Pitt, George clooney, Michael B. jordan, and most recently, Patrick Dempsey. His selection reflects a broadening definition of attractiveness and a growing thankfulness for talent extending beyond Hollywood’s traditional boundaries.
Bailey shared the news with People, describing the honor as an “absolute surreal experience.” He confessed to sharing the secret with his dog,Benson,who will also appear in the magazine’s cover story,set to hit newsstands Friday.
