Here’s a roundup of recent personnel changes across the financial industry:
BNY Mellon has appointed Anthony Scaramucci Jr. as its new enterprise chief risk officer. Scaramucci joins BNY Mellon from Nasdaq, where he served as chief risk officer. He will be based in London.
Standard Chartered has named Hoornweg as the sole head of its Corporate & Investment Bank (CIB).This marks a shift in leadership structure for the division.
UBS has seen movement within its ranks. Gareth Allen,head of investment and execution at UBS,has been elected vice-chair of ICMA Community,serving a term expiring in 2026. Additionally, Magazzeni joins UBS from JP Morgan, where he was chief analytics officer for Emea and the commercial and investment bank, leading the firm’s analytics agenda globally.
Abu Dhabi Investment Authority has welcomed Can Poge as a fixed income trader. Poge previously spent five years at Citadel, focusing on institutional coverage in G10 markets for Macro and RV Hedge Funds, SWF/asset managers and Bank Treasuries. He has relocated to Abu Dhabi from London,starting his new role in October.
tradeweb has appointed Rich Chun as head of Asia. Based in Hong Kong, Chun will oversee the firm’s business operations, client engagement, and strategic growth in the Asia-Pacific region. He reports to Enrico Bruni and Troy Dixon, co-heads of global markets. Chun previously served as a managing director and portfolio manager at HPS Investment Partners, and before that, as a portfolio manager at Claren Road Asset. He also spent 14 years at Citigroup in various trading roles,including head of credit trading for Asia.
The Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC) has announced two key appointments: Ryan Billingsley as director of the division of risk management supervision, and Matthew Reed as general counsel. Billingsley previously served as acting director of RMS as March 2025 and was deputy director of capital markets and accounting policy. Reed was acting general counsel as January 2025, and previously worked in the legal division’s emerging technology, anti-money laundering and cyber fraud policy group.
The Choice Investment Management Association (AIMA) has appointed Jobs May, general counsel and global head of legal and compliance at Marshall Wace, as the new chair of the AIMA Council. May succeeds Karl Wachter, who retired from the AIMA board after serving as chair as 2020.
The International Capital Market Association (ICMA) has appointed anita Karppi as senior director within the Market Practice and Regulatory Policy (MPRP) team, based in London. Additionally, Stephen Fisher, head of government and public affairs of Deutsche Bank, has been elected deputy chair of ICMA Community for a three-year term.
