Penn State Wrestler Connor Mirasola Added to NWCA All-Star Classic Lineup
Connor Mirasola Joins NWCA All-Star Classic Lineup at Rec Hall
Penn State wrestler Connor Mirasola has been added to the heavyweight lineup for the NWCA All-Star Classic, scheduled for November 24 at Rec Hall. The heavyweight match was previously listed as to be announced before Mirasola filled the slot.
Mirasola returns for his third season with the Nittany Lions after moving up from the 197-pound weight class. He enters the showcase following a U23 Pan-American gold medal win at 125 kilograms in freestyle competition. Across the mat, he will face Wisconsin heavyweight Braxton Amos, a redshirt senior who placed sixth in the Big Ten Championships last season with a 20-7 record and currently holds the No. 7 spot in the InterMat rankings.
Matchups and Roster Additions for the November Showcase
With Mirasola’s inclusion, four Nittany Lions are now set for the early-season exhibition clash. Shayne Van Ness, Rocco Welsh, and Josh Barr were previously announced for the event. Van Ness faces 2025 national champion Caleb Henson from Virginia Tech at 149 pounds in a rematch of their 2023 NCAA Championships meeting, which Van Ness won 5-3. Welsh takes on Michigan’s Brock Mantanona at 184 pounds following three previous meetings last season. Barr squares off against Stephen Little of Little Rock at 197 pounds in a series where Barr previously secured wins at the December 2024 Journeyman Collegiate Duals and the January 2026 Southern Scuffle.
FloWrestling announced the initial lineup for the event, marking the second time in three years that Rec Hall has hosted the showcase. In addition to the men’s collegiate matches, the exhibition features four women’s matches and a Division II versus Division III showcase, with all action streaming on FloWrestling. Ticket information has not been released yet.
