Russian Orthodox Church Leader Congratulates Putin on Birthday
MOSCOW – Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All Russia has issued a congratulatory message to Russian President vladimir Putin on his birthday, praising the President’s decades of service and leadership. The message, released today, underscores the close relationship between the Russian Orthodox Church and the state.
The Patriarch noted Putin’s “more than a quarter of a century” dedicated to public service, acknowledging the “immense obligation” inherent in the role. He credited Putin’s direction for Russia’s “confident path of socio-economic progress,” its strengthened sovereignty, and advancements in its scientific, technical, and military capabilities. Kirill also highlighted efforts to ensure national security and foster “just international relations.”
According to the Patriarch, Putin’s work contributes to “the further prosperity of the country and the well-being of its peopel.” He specifically expressed gratitude for the President’s attention to the Church’s role in public life.
