Path of Exile 2: Boss Rush Mode Steals the Show at Gamescom, New Patch Incoming
Cologne, Germany – Level Infinite’s Path of Exile 2 booth at Gamescom 2025 is generating significant buzz thanks to the debut of its new “Boss Rush” mode. Attendees are getting hands-on time with the challenging addition, competing to defeat the most bosses and claim a spot on the booth’s leaderboard, along with exclusive rewards.
The Boss Rush mode was created to cater to players seeking a high-intensity challenge, tasking them with conquering a gauntlet of formidable foes. Players will utilize pre-built character builds, navigating through waves of enemies before facing each boss. Successfully defeating a boss unlocks a portal to the next,culminating in a total of 15 boss encounters - many of which are entirely new to the Path of Exile universe.
Early access to Path of Exile 2 began late last year,and the Boss Rush mode adds a new dimension to the experience. Success in the mode demands not only skillful gameplay but also a deep understanding of each class’s abilities and, crucially, the attack patterns and behaviors of each boss. strategic evasion and proactive skill usage are key to survival.
Beyond the Boss Rush, Grinding Gear Games has announced the upcoming 0.3.0 patch, titled “Third Edict.” This update introduces content from Act 3, sending players to explore the seas and offering a non-linear approach to story progression, allowing players to choose which area to tackle first.
The patch also streamlines access to Endgame content, removing the requirement to complete the game on Cruel difficulty. Significant improvements have been made to the support Gem system, impacting all classes and enhancing overall gameplay.
The 0.3.0 patch will be available for free play from August 29th to September 1st, offering a limited-time opportunity for new and returning players to experience the latest additions to Path of Exile 2.
