OGC Nice: Players Attacked by Supporters After Heavy Losses

OGC Nice Rocked by Fan Violence: Sporting Director Targeted,Players injured

Nice,France an explosive confrontation ⁣between‌ OGC ‍Nice players and approximately 400 supporters Monday night left sporting⁤ director Florian Maurice visibly shaken and requiring security escort,while attackers Jérémie Boga and ⁢Terem Moffi sustained injuries and have been placed on five-day work stoppages (ITT).The incident ‍occurred following the ⁢team’s bus arriving at the training ⁣center ⁢after a string of six consecutive defeats in Ligue 1 and the Europa League.

According to Maxime Bacquié, a journalist from Here who was the only‍ reporter present, supporters blocked‍ the bus’s passage at ⁢11:15 p.m., deploying smoke bombs ⁣and chanting antagonistic slogans. Coach Franck Haise attempted to engage with the supporters during the ‍45-minute standoff, admitting difficulty ​in unifying​ the​ team, but affirmed his⁣ commitment⁢ to “fight.” Club president⁣ Fabrice ‌Bocquet was not ⁣present at ⁢the training center.

Currently 10th in Ligue 1 with 17 ​points, Nice‍ is scheduled⁢ to‌ host Angers on Sunday. The team is expected to resume training on Wednesday following two days of⁢ rest.
