Oak Ridge Youth Arts Collective to Debut in concert on November 16th
Oak Ridge,TN – November 11,2025 – The Oak Ridge Civic music Association (ORCMA) is thrilled to announce the inaugural concert of the Oak Ridge Youth Arts Collective,a new initiative uniting the city’s young musical talent. The debut performance will feature the Oak Ridge Youth Orchestra, Youth Chamber Orchestra, and Youth Choir in a collaborative showcase of skill and passion.
The concert will be held at 2:00 PM on Sunday, November 16th, at First Baptist church of Oak Ridge, located at 1101 oak Ridge Turnpike. Admission is free, offering a fantastic chance for the community to experience the burgeoning artistry of local youth.

A Diverse Program for All
The afternoon’s program promises a diverse and engaging musical experience. The Oak Ridge Youth Chamber Orchestra, under the direction of Kathryn York, will perform Edward Elgar’s poignant Elegy for Strings, Op. 58 and Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart’s timeless Serenade No. 13 in G, “Eine Kleine Nachtmusik” (Allegro).
Led by Carlos Hernandez, the Oak Ridge Youth Orchestra will present a vibrant selection including Dragon Dances, a rendition of Gustav Holst’s Jupiter, and El Toro.
Rounding out the performance,the Oak Ridge Youth Choir,directed by Gigi Naeve with accompaniment by Amy Byrd and high school assistant lillian Borboa,will share a beautiful repertoire of choral works. Highlights include Chumbara (arr. Dave & Jean Perry), the conventional folk song Ah, Poor Bird!, Blue Waters of the North (arr. Phyllis Aleta Wolfe), and One Candle, One Flame by Linda Sobo.
