Maruyama Claims Victory at Summer Grand Prix ‌Competition, Secures Overall Series Title

Zakopane, Poland – Nozomi Maruyama of Japan triumphed at the Ladies’ Summer‍ Grand Prix competition in Zakopane,​ Poland, adding to‍ her lead in the overall Summer Grand ‍Prix classification. ⁣Maruyama’s consistent ⁣performance throughout both rounds secured​ her⁢ the win, finishing 17.4 points ahead of Nika Prevc in the final round.

This victory not only marks a‌ triumphant​ competition for Maruyama but also confirms her⁢ as the overall champion of the 2025⁤ Ladies Summer⁢ Grand Prix series. The Summer Grand Prix serves as ⁢a crucial early-season indicator for ⁤ski jumping ‌athletes, providing valuable ⁢competition experience and setting the stage ‍for the upcoming winter season. the ​event also ⁣contributes‌ to the ladies’ summer ⁢Nations ​Cup standings, showcasing national team strength in⁢ the sport.

Maruyama led after the first series with ⁤a jump ⁤of 141 meters, holding a‌ 5.1-point advantage over Nika Prevc (136.5 m) and a 9.5-point ‌lead over Kurumi Ichinohe‌ (133 m). ⁤Yuki Ito (131 m), Abigail Strate (128.5 m), and Lisa Eder ⁢(128.5 m)⁢ also placed highly in‍ the initial round. Representing Poland, anna Twardosz ⁢achieved 22nd place in the first series (116 m) and improved to 19th overall with​ a final jump of 106 meters.Nicole Konderla-Juroszek advanced ⁣to the final round, finishing 26th in the first ⁣series ‍(106 m) and 30th overall with a final jump of 90 meters.

Annika Sieff and Gyda Westvold Hansen were disqualified during the first series. Competition ‌commenced from the 20th and​ 22nd starting​ beams, and the ‌final round utilized the 20th platform.
