Salvatore Del Campo, a 41-year-old Italian man wanted for stalking, assault, and violating a court order, was arrested in London on February 13th, authorities confirmed on Wednesday, February 20th. The arrest, carried out by British police acting on information provided by the Ancona Mobile Squad and coordinated by the Public Prosecutor Ruggiero Dicuonzo, ends a five-month period during which Del Campo evaded Italian authorities.
Del Campo initially faced charges related to stalking his former partner in the province of Ancona, stemming from incidents beginning in March 2025. The situation escalated on April 2nd, 2025, when he allegedly assaulted Donatella Baleani, the ex-partner’s lawyer, in the parking lot of “Gli Archi” in Ancona. According to reports, he physically threatened Baleani in an attempt to influence the ongoing custody case concerning their daughter. He was subsequently convicted in November 2025 to a two-year sentence for stalking and assault.
While under house arrest in September 2025, Del Campo removed his electronic monitoring bracelet, claiming it was “cancerous,” and went on the run. He initially fled to Switzerland before ultimately reaching London. His attempts to remain undetected were hampered by his own actions, including frequent posts on social media and multiple interviews with the Italian television program “Chi l’ha visto?” where he claimed to be seeking legal protection abroad.
Investigators from the Ancona Mobile Squad, led by Vice Questor Carlo Pinto, tracked Del Campo through his mobile phone, Facebook profile, and the content of his television interviews. The operation was coordinated with Interpol and falls under the Italian Ministry’s “Wanted” project. Del Campo was apprehended at St. Pancras International station in London on February 13th.
Authorities are now working to extradite Del Campo back to Italy, with a potential flight scheduled for London-Fiumicino as early as March 9th. Upon his return, he will be incarcerated and face further legal proceedings. Federica Guerrera of Senigallia has been appointed as his fresh legal counsel, replacing his brother who previously represented him.
