US says there is no sign of Russia deploying tactical nuclear weapons in Belarus

The United States believes that Russia has not yet deployed tactical nuclear weapons in Belarus.

National Security Council Strategic Communications Coordinator John Kirby said in a media interview on the 26th local time that he saw no indication that Russian President Putin was moving nuclear weapons or intending to use them in Ukraine.

The US government said it was monitoring Russia’s nuclear weapons situation daily and saw nothing that would change its strategic deterrence posture.

Earlier, Putin said he had agreed to deploy tactical nuclear weapons in Belarus, but did not specify when they would deploy them.
