Nintendo adds Mole Mania and two Game Boy titles to Switch Online
Nintendo is expanding its retro catalog on the Nintendo Switch Online service by adding three classic Game Boy titles, headlined by the 1996 puzzle game Mole Mania.
Subscribers can now access Mole Mania, the 1992 action game Avenging Spirit, and the 1989 pinball release Revenge of the ‘Gator on both Nintendo Switch and Switch 2 hardware. Nintendo deployed an official statement alongside a new trailer to confirm the drop, keeping the subscription model at $3.99 per month or $19.99 annually.
Mole Mania Draws Early Praise for Miyamoto Pedigree
Within digital communities on Reddit and beneath the announcement video on YouTube, players immediately latched onto Mole Mania as the crown jewel of the latest batch.
Fans pointed out that the intricate puzzle mechanics hold up surprisingly well against modern releases. Much of the enduring enthusiasm traces back to the game’s distinguished production lineage: it was produced by Shigeru Miyamoto and jointly developed by Nintendo EAD and Pax Softnica.
Avenging Spirit and Revenge of the ‘Gator Find an Audience
The remaining two additions have sparked lively discussions across social platforms and video comments. Avenging Spirit is regularly cited as an overlooked hidden gem, with some online users even drawing loose comparisons to Super Mario Odyssey.
Meanwhile, Revenge of the ‘Gator has quietly climbed the ranks among retro pinball enthusiasts. Players on digital forums singled out the title’s soundtrack as its standout asset.
