During the panel discussion, Cage addressed his upcoming television work, telling the audience he plans to take on another major TV role. “I think I’m probably going to do another season of television,” Cage said, according to Gold Derby. “I think I might do a season of True Detective.” After the crowd reacted, Cage paused and asked, “That’s okay that I’m the first to announce that, right?” He also compared the moment to Jonathan Turteltaub getting a microphone in his hand in Philadelphia and declaring that National Treasure 3 is happening with Cage returning, noting that he had not signed up for that.
Cage Rejects Amazon AI Waiver Causing Spider-Noir Cancellation
Addressing his recent work on Prime Video’s Spider-Noir—an eight-episode series that won five Emmy Awards out of eleven nominations before its cancellation—Cage detailed his decision to reject Amazon’s digital replication terms. Amazon is a very AI-friendly company, to the tune of $50 billion invested in OpenAI,
he observed, adding, I am not an AI-friendly actor, so it’s like, connect those dots! I am not a member of their club… I didn’t sign the waiver to let them use AI on Spider-Noir. I’m probably not going to be working with that studio again, but that’s okay.
Despite leaving the live-action role behind, Cage is set to return as the animated Peter Parker/Spider-Man Noir in Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse in 2027.
