NHS Doctor Warns of ‘Ozempic Baby’ Rise Linked to Weight Loss Drugs

Dr. Jody Dushar, an endocrinology and metabolism physician at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Centre and an assistant professor at Harvard Medical School, stated that the impact of early exposure to thes medications on a fetus is not yet understood.

A representative for Novo Nordisk, the manufacturer of Semaglutide injections such as Ozempic and Wegovy, advised that the medication should be stopped at least two months prior to a planned pregnancy.This recommendation is attributed to the extended washout period for semaglutide.
