NHL: the first star for Meier and Niederreiter – rts.ch

A splendid evening for the Swiss! Both scorers, Timo Meier and Nino Niederreiter won the first star.

Timo Meier scored the goal of the San Jose 3-2 win at Winnipeg. The Appenzellois exploited a rebound granted by Connor Hellebuyck to score his 19th goal of the season. Timo Meier, who has scored three goals and three assists in his last four games, showed remarkable punch in February.

Nino Niederreiter, for his part, opened the scoring and signed an assist during Carolina’s 5-2 success in front of New Jersey, still deprived of Nico Hischier injured in a knee. The Grison scored his eighth goal of the season on a pitch that spun under the leggings of goalkeeper Louis Domingue.

204 seconds later, Mirco Müller equalized for the Devils. The Zurich defender signed his second success of the year after that against Colorado on December 13.
