In the US metropolis of New York, a second Statue of Liberty can be seen – at least temporarily.
The new “Lady Liberty” does not stand with her arm raised in the city harbor like her famous twin sister, but leans on one hand in Morningside Park in the Harlem district in north Manhattan. The statue is over seven meters long, was made by the American artist Zaq Landsberg and should be on view until April 2022.
Another new statue has recently stood in the middle of Manhattan: the artist Sanford Biggers placed “Oracle”, an almost eight meter high bronze figure, directly in front of the Rockefeller Center.
