Albuquerque, N.M. – New Mexico United has signed forward Joseph Melto Quiah, the club announced Thursday, bolstering its attack ahead of the 2026 USL Championship season. The signing is contingent upon league and federation approval.

“Joseph is an exciting young prospect,” said New Mexico United Sporting Director Itamar Keinan. “He came into our preseason and showed some real attacking quality. We’re excited to have him join New Mexico United.”

Quiah arrives in Albuquerque after a single season with Toronto FC II in MLS NEXT Pro. He was originally selected by Toronto FC in the third round of the 2025 Major League Soccer SuperDraft, according to Toronto FC’s official announcement. Prior to turning professional, Quiah spent three seasons at the University of Dayton, where he established himself as a consistent goal scorer.

During his collegiate career, the Liberian forward tallied 14 goals and 16 assists in 47 appearances for the Flyers. His senior year at Dayton proved to be his most productive, earning him recognition as a United Soccer Coaches All-America Second Team selection and a First Team honoree for both the All-Southeast Region and All-Atlantic 10 Conference. He recorded eight goals and six assists in his final season.

Quiah’s soccer journey began in his native Montserrado, Liberia, where he debuted with LISCR FC at the age of 16. He later transitioned to the United States to continue his development, joining the University of Dayton program. He has also represented Liberia at the U-17 and U-20 levels.
