Yeon Sang-ho is returning to the “Parasyte” universe with Parasyte: Tamiya, a live-action series starring Shioli Kutsuna slated to stream on Netflix in 2027. Developed by Yeon and co-written alongside Ryu Yong-jae, the upcoming project expands on the body-snatching mythos previously explored in the live-action Korean adaptation Parasyte: The Grey and the dystopian thriller Hellbound.

Expanding the Parasitic Mythos

The new series shifts focus within the established universe originally created by manga artist Hitoshi Iwaaki. While Parasyte: The Grey charted an entirely separate outbreak in South Korea alongside the events of the original source material, Parasyte: Tamiya introduces Shioli Kutsuna to lead the narrative charge.
