Natiruts: Discover Brazil’s Grammy-Nominated Reggae Roots

by Lucas Fernandez – World Editor

Brazilian reggae group Natiruts, nominated for a Grammy Award, is currently on tour and collaborating with artists across the Americas, including a recent project with Diego Torres and Rayko B. The band, whose name translates to “natural roots,” is pronounced “natchee-hootchees.”

This tour and collaborative spirit coincides with a broader wave of musical partnerships uniting artists from North and South America. Natiruts recently joined forces with Diego Torres and Rayko B on the song “Para sentirme libre,” which has already surpassed one million views, according to reports from Al Día News.

The band’s activity likewise aligns with other significant releases in the reggae and Latin music scenes. Ziggy Marley and Yalitza Aparicio are collaborating on a project called “América Vibra,” aiming to unite the Americas through music, as reported by Global Citizen. Meanwhile, The Wailers have released a recent album, “ONE WORLD,” through Sony Music Canada.

Further highlighting the Brazilian music scene, Rafael “Rafa” Pondé has released his album “Brazilian Reggae Experience Vol. 2,” accompanied by a new music video, according to TheUrbanMusicScene.com. This release adds to the growing presence of Brazilian reggae on the international stage.
