Aunt Zhang, a Hai’an resident, rushed to the exhibition hall with her family specifically to purchase Hai’an shrimp paste, a hometown favorite. “I heard that there was a grandma Hai’an shrimp paste at this event, so I came for this bite!” she explained, adding, “This sauce with steamed buns and noodles is appetizing, so fresh that it is soulless!” A sales representative noted the product had briefly sold out, with a colleague dispatched to restock.
Beyond local delicacies, the festival features a diverse range of goods. Ms. Guo, a home furnishings enthusiast, highlighted the value of discounted exports, stating, “The slippers are exported to Japan, and they feel and quality are very good. A pair on Taobao will sell for 40 or 50, and it is indeed only 20 here. I quickly bought them for all my family.”
Mr. Wang, a nantong citizen, secured a Honor mobile phone originally priced at 3,999 yuan for under 3,200 yuan thanks to exclusive event discounts.
