Villa Owners seek Over €106 Million in Damages from Jul & Heuss L’Enfoiré Clip
Toulon, France – The owners of a villa featured in the popular rap music video ”Heuss bastard her” by Jul and Heuss L’Enfoiré are pursuing legal action seeking more than €106.7 million in compensation for damages. The lawsuit, filed September 9th, names Google France, YouTube parent company, luxury rental platform Homelly, and midi Midi Production, the song’s label, as defendants.
According to family lawyer Me Jérôme Janin, the owners were unaware their property would be used as a filming location and have as been repeatedly disturbed by passersby recognizing the villa from the video. “This house is not intended to serve for filming. The family was absolutely not aware,” Janin stated to L’Informé.
The claimed amount is based on the initial view count of the music video, which currently exceeds 210 million views on YouTube, and may be adjusted as the case progresses.
While the Toulon judicial court initially deemed the action against Google France inadmissible, citing jurisdiction with Google Ireland, the applicants are now redirecting their legal efforts to the latter.
