Microsoft 365 Will Cease New Functions on Windows 10 Starting in 2026.
Microsoft is gradually phasing out new features for Microsoft 365 applications on Windows 10. Beginning in August 2026,users of Microsoft 365 Personal,Family,and the Business Current Channel will no longer receive new functionalities. monthly Enterprise users will see this change on October 13, 2026, with semi-annual users affected on January 12, 2027.
Only Security Updates Will Remain
While Microsoft had previously committed to providing security updates for Microsoft 365 on Windows 10 until October 2029, it is indeed now clear that functional enhancements will cease.To access the latest features in applications like Word, Excel, and Outlook, users will need to upgrade to Windows 11.
This move by microsoft is intended to encourage users to transition to Windows 11, as official support for Windows 10 concludes on October 14, 2025. Despite this, Windows 10 remains installed on millions of devices globally.
Users can extend the operational life of their Windows 10 systems by one year through the activation of Windows Backup. this extension includes free additional security updates, but new features will be exclusively available for Windows 11 users, thereby increasing the pressure to upgrade.
