MDAX Records Weekly Decline Despite Friday Gain
Trading began on Friday with a gain of 0.864 percent at 29’761.69 points, building on the previous close of 29’506.83 points. Throughout the session, the MDAX touched a daily high of 30’125.43 units before hitting a low of 29’744.36 units. Despite the late-day rally, the index recorded a weekly decline of 1.46 percent. A month prior, on September 9, 2026, the index stood significantly higher at 32’078.48 points, while three months ago it moved near 31’837.35 points.
Looking back further, the index sat at 30’921.06 points exactly one year ago. The 2026 yearly performance spans from a peak of 33’547.52 points down to a low of 26’803.25 Zähler.
Salzgitter Leads Winning Equities as Jenoptik Drops
Salzgitter led the winning equities with a 13.40 percent surge to 49.94 euros, followed by thyssenkrupp climbing 6.66 percent to 13.70 euros. RATIONAL gained 6.55 percent to 593.50 euros, Nemetschek SE rose 4.90 percent to 67.40 euros, and Aurubis advanced 3.62 percent to 160.40 euros.

Conversely, JENOPTIK dropped 2.52 percent to 39.42 euros. K+S fell 2.40 percent to 14.63 euros, Schaeffler lost 2.16 percent to 5.88 euros, freenet dipped 1.97 percent to 21.94 euros, and Siltronic retreated 1.61 percent to 79.20 euros. Lufthansa recorded the highest trading volume in the index with 4’367’667 shares changing hands via XETRA, while Porsche vz maintained the largest market capitalization in the MDAX at 36.886 billion euros.
Porsche Automobil-Aktie holds the lowest price-to-earnings ratio at 2.69. Meanwhile, freenet projects the strongest dividend yield in the index at 8.98 percent.
