Gym-Goers Targeted in Series of Early Morning Car Break-Ins

Gloucester Police are investigating a series of vehicle break-ins that occurred early Monday morning, primarily targeting cars parked outside local fitness centers. The incidents, which involved smashed windows and stolen personal items, have prompted an urgent appeal for public assistance.

Multiple Locations Affected

The first report came in around 6:35 a.m. at Freedom fitness, located at 12 Lexington Ave.Two vehicles parked there had their windows shattered, and personal effects, including debit cards, were taken while their owners were inside a fitness class.

Just five minutes later, officers were dispatched to Fitness Zone at 37 Blackburn Center. Another car break-in was reported there, with a smashed window and stolen belongings.

shortly before 7 a.m., a third incident was reported at north Shore 24 Fitness, 6 Whistlestop Way. The driverS side window of a vehicle was found shattered, and personal items were missing.

License Plates Also Stolen

Along with the break-ins with property theft, another vehicle was discovered near Dory Drive with its license plates stolen. This suggests a broader pattern of criminal activity affecting local motorists.
