Man Stabbed to Death in Gokwe North Snooker Token Dispute
A dispute over snooker tokens at a business centre in Gokwe North left a 21-year-old man dead after two fellow players beat him with wooden sticks and stabbed him in the chest and stomach on November 1, 2026.
The fatal confrontation took place at Vumba Business Centre in the Midlands Province at around 9:30 PM. The victim, Shuwa Ndlovu of Ganyani Village under Chief Simuchembo, had been playing the cue sport with two acquaintances before a disagreement broke out over purchasing the game tokens.
According to Midlands provincial police spokesperson Inspector Emmanuel Mahoko, the argument escalated into a physical assault. The two suspects, identified as Isheunesu Ganyani, 20, and Tinashe Ganyani, 19, took turns striking Ndlovu with wooden sticks before the attack culminated in knife wounds to his chest and stomach. Ndlovu collapsed at the scene and died on the spot.
Brothers Arrested as Police Investigate Homicide
Inspector Mahoko confirmed that both Isheunesu Ganyani and Tinashe Ganyani were taken into custody following the incident. The suspects are currently assisting police with investigations into the homicide.
Authorities used the case to issue a broader public safety appeal regarding conflict resolution. We have once again lost a life in circumstances where dialogue should have been the best route in finding a solution,
Mahoko stated, urging citizens to abandon violence during disputes.
Parallel Fatality Linked to Illicit Alcohol
Police investigations into both the Gokwe North snooker dispute homicide and the Mberengwa poisoning incident are continuing.
